Homework News for 7th grade...

CA - continue reading Treasure Island.  Chapters 27 and 28 are due as of Thursday.   We will tackle 29 and 30 for Friday.  Please come to school having read through chapter 30 on Monday morning.

the essay due tomorrow - details!

Regarding the essay that is due tomorrow...
Students must turn in:
a. a rough draft
b. a final draft (with some changes made from the rough draft!)
c. the rubric with a self grading done

The essay must have -
a. an introduction which states the topic (4 vs. 5 day school week) and states an opinion (your topic sentence... or thesis statement)
b. 3 paragraphs supporting your opinion - one paragraph per supporting idea
c. a conclusion

Homework and Assignments : January 12, 2012

Communication Arts:  The persuasive essays are due TOMORROW.... if you aren't finished, turn in what you have!  Look at the post above for details on what needs to be turned in.

MT. History - questions 1 - 7 at the end of chapter 7 are due TOMORROW (before class... we won't have time to work on them in class, unfortunately.)

Math - no new assignments.  EXCEPT - if you are making test corrections - they are due on Monday (1.16).  We will finish investigation 5 in class tomorrow along with re-visiting Lesson 50 and the Unit Multiplier.

Math - do Lesson 50 EVENS only # 2 - 30  (we will be doing odds tomorrow night but this gives us time in class to review the homework and prepare for the test!)


Comm Arts: read 30 minutes and record the pages you read.  Vocab Quiz (words 1 - 20) tomorrow along with continued work on our current Essay.  1st draft of the essay is due on WEDNESDAY!


MT History - Chapter 7 review questions (1 - 7)will be due on FRIDAY!  We have already started these in class.  Make sure you keep track of them.

Homework for TONIGHT! 1.4.12

Comm Arts: Write a 4 - 5 sentence introduction to your persuasive essay.  The introduction must do two two things:
1. Introduce the topic (nationwide school budget crunch causing schools to look for ways to save money leads to schools to try a four day school week...this is brings some good and some bad for schools.)
2. share your opinion - 4-day week is GOOD or 4-day week is BAD!
- Introductions can be emailed to me at: hchanin@lonerockschool.org OR handwritten and turned in at school.
